Luciano snuck out to his garden later that evening. He hid himself in his room for the day, not daring to look at you. He was so embarrassed about the way he acted that afternoon. He didn't want you to be scared of him so it was better to hide.
Luciano sat down on the edge of the fountain in the garden. The moonflowers were about to bloom. He never missed that. He looked into the water.
"Hi there, handsome." He growled at his reflection. He continued to look at himself in the water. He was pathetic. He used to be so strong and known for his cruel acts. When did he become such a wimp? When did he crumble? He was nothing.
As he stared, he swore he saw you next to him in the water. That's when you reached out and grabbed his shoulder. He jumped at the real touch and turned around to see you standing there. Your eyes were red and puffy from crying. You pulled your hand away from Luciano's shoulder as he jumped.
Luciano made eye contact with you longer than he wanted. He hung his head and looked away. "What do you want?" He sighed, pulling his hat off of his head.
You had never heard Luciano be so sad and defeated. "I wanted to make sure you were ok." You said in a quiet voice.
"Look, I'm not going to be any good for you to worry about, so you can just leave-" Luciano started.
"I'm sorry." You said.
Luciano froze. "Beg your pardon?"
"I'm sorry that I attacked you when Arthur and my friends came to the door." You said.
"The fault is mine." Luciano said. "I'm the one who attacked the British boy. You were just helping him." There was an awkward silence. "I'm sorry I attacked you." Luciano whispered.
"It's ok. I betrayed our deal." You said. "I should have told them to leave."
"But that is no excuse for me to hurt you." Luciano said. "I…It…It got out of hand and I'm sorry it did. I betrayed our deal that I would not hurt you."
"Consider it a trade." You grumbled, sitting down next to Luciano.
He gave a small huff as a reply.
Another silence.
"You saw us kiss?"
"Ugh, did I ever." Luciano gagged. "That was your first, was it not?"
"Why do you care?" You blushed.
"Because you could kiss an octopus and find more pleasure in it than that boy's kiss." Luciano growled.
"I love Arthur!" You said. "And yes, it was my first kiss and I wouldn't return it for another kiss in the whole world!"
"Go kiss a beanpole and find out if you wouldn't want to return that boy's kiss." Luciano rolled his eyes.
"He has a name, you know. Arthur Kirkland."
"Right. Stupid name for a stupid boy."
"Stop it! I love him!"
"You wouldn't feel that way if you saw the looks he was giving your rear end. You'd think the boy thought it had eyes." Luciano said.
You gave a small squeak. "Hey! Stop that!" You said.
"What? It's true. As a male myself, I would know if he was actually looking at your face." Luciano said. "And he wasn't."
Your face fell. "You…really think he doesn't like me?"
"Oh, he likes you but not for what you think he does."
"…Oh." You said. Your figure slumped and your eyes grew sad.
It was like a magic spell. For some reason, both of you were open to each other.
You gave a small gasp as the moonflowers started to open. The women were beautiful again and the fountain you were both sitting on was magical once more.
"Beautiful, is it not?" Luciano said, looking at the flowers.
"Why did you grow these?" You asked.
"It gave me something to do." Luciano said. "Something that wasn't illegal."
You both sat in silence as the flowers opened up. You closed your eyes and took in the wonderful smell of all the flowers.
Luzifer gave a small cough. You both quickly stood up and looked at the German man, who was standing by one of the statues.
"Dinner is ready, sir." Luzifer said.
"Thank you, Luzifer." Luciano said. "We will be in shortly."
…
Luciano opened the door to your room slightly, poking his head in. You were sleeping, curled up on your side. Luciano sat on the edge of your bed and petted your soft hair.
"I'm so happy." He simply said. "You made me happy and I've never been happier in my entire life."
He got up and left, feeling better that he made his small confession to you.
You opened one eye as you heard the door close. "I love you." You confessed to the empty air. "And I'm happy that you are happy." You closed your eyes.
…
Whack! Another knife to the curtain. Luciano rubbed the sleep from his eyes and sat up. He grabbed a black shirt from his closet and put it on, buttoning up the front of the shirt. He made his way downstairs and was greeting by a feast on the table. The table itself was polished to a shine and bowl after bowl of fruit and plate after plate of baked goods were placed upon it. He poked his head in the kitchen and found you cooking away. He didn't want to disturb you, so he made his way out of the dining room and went to the front door.
Ah. Package.
Luzifer probably left it by the door once the package was on the doorstep. Luciano picked it up and took out his switchblade. He opened the package and saw a wrapped up bundle and a note on top. He took out the note.
Dearest little brother of mine~,
You are lucky Luzie sent me the measurements~! I worked all day and night so you better like it~!
Lots of love,
Your dearest brother Flavio
Luciano turned the paper over. His cousin was so nice as to send a signed headshot.
"Who's that?" You asked, leaning over Luciano's shoulder.
Luciano jumped through the ceiling. "Don't do that! You sneak around like a cat!"
"Well, you're no better!" You huffed. "Who's that in the picture?"
Luciano rolled his eyes. "My cousin, Flavio."
You grabbed the paper from him. You turned it over and read the note, much to the protesting of Luciano.
"It says 'brother' here. I thought your brother died." You said.
Luciano grabbed the note from you. "My brother did die. Flavio's my cousin, on my father's side. He's got this bright notion that because he's a murderer too, we're soul brothers or some bullshit like that."
"Oh, so the crazy gene runs in the family?" You said.
"Just me and my cousin." Luciano said. "Ever since my brother died, Flavio felt that he needed to take my brother's place to look after me. I always hated Flavio. He's a good-for-nothing idiot. He's a photographer and fashion designer. He poisoned six models and posed their dead bodies at one of his photo shoots and then claimed we were linked through the passion of killing things. He's into all that crystal reading, soul-linking crap that I hate. For lack of better words, I just can't shake Flavio off. He's always calling and giving me stuff."
Luciano walked off with the headshot and package. "I'll be back."
Luciano looked at the package in his room. Opening the wrapping, he found the dress that his cousin made you. It took his breath away. It was like Flavio knew you. It was perfect.
Luciano gave a soft smile looking at the dress. He put the package to the side and went downstairs for breakfast.
…
Arthur paced the floor of the hallway.
"Stop giving us that look!" Gilbert sighed.
"Man, did you see the look on his face? I was about to piss my pants." Alfred said. "This guy is bigger than any bully or evil villain I've ever seen."
"That's because this guy is real, not a fake villain like in comics!" Arthur snapped. "We need to do something!"
"Like what?" Alfred asked. "Storm the place with pitchforks and torches?"
Arthur paused. "Maybe…"
"You're insane!" Gilbert snapped.
"I want her back!" Arthur said.
Alfred grabbed Arthur's arm. "I'm beginning to have second thoughts about you." Alfred growled. "You're obsessed with her. Not even is a sweet or cool way."
"…I love her." Arthur said. He tore his arm away from Alfred. "Maybe you just don't know about love like I do."
"Both of you, stop." Gilbert said. "We're not getting her back."
"Maybe the three of us can't…but what about 200 of us?" Arthur said.
"Are you saying we should get the school involved?!" Alfred gasped. "Our parents will kill us!"
"What if we got them involved too?" Arthur shrugged. "Rally the town. Vargas will just keep stealing people until we fight back. We need to make a stand."
Gilbert and Alfred fell silence.
"It might work…" Gilbert said. "I don't think those guys ever took a stand against so many people."
"We keep it a secret from Luciano. Attack without warning. Take her back." Arthur said.
Alfred turned and left the group in the hallway.
"Where are you going?" Gilbert called.
"To get more people involved with this!" Alfred yelled. "I want ______________ back!"
